The aim is to take advantage of the existence of these pre-existences and make use of the synergies produced. The access to the planned enclosure that will house the open-air swimming pool is located in the north-eastern area of the plot (elevation 1063 m), next to the paddle tennis court, at a point that involves:
- Direct access by vehicle through the service road.
- Direct communication with the parking area and the rest of the existing sports facilities. It is necessary to urbanise the accessible itinerary up to the access to the projected swimming pool, overcoming the great existing unevenness.
The enclosure is completely fenced and has the main access (north-east side of the plot) which is both pedestrian and vehicular; and a second service access also for pedestrians and vehicles on the southern boundary (C/ Tranvía de la Sierra).
The main access space contains the control area, administration and cleaning warehouses; and serves to organise the circulation towards the changing rooms wing, on one side, and the cafeteria, kitchen and toilets area, on the other side. This backbone axis provides access to the interior of the enclosure where the swimming pool appears with its beach and recreation area. It faces south, avoiding shadows from the projected buildings themselves.
It was considered as a starting point that the cafeteria and its large terrace area should face south. The building has a large overhang that protects the terrace area in summer. For winter use, which can be independent of the swimming pool, it provides a pleasant ‘recess’ while enjoying a drink.
The other wing of the building houses the men's, women's and staff changing rooms. Close to the pool is the infirmary and the access to the basement.
The floor is completed with the 25x12.5 m semi-Olympic infinity pool, which is equipped with an access ramp for people with mobility difficulties. The overflow kerb will limit the maximum water level, drain the surface film of impurities, serve as a grip for users and act as a breakwater.
There is a basement floor that partially covers the pool basin and beach, where the purification machinery, chemical product storage, compensation basin, etc. are located. It has direct and independent access from the main access to the site, taking advantage of the favourable elevation in C/ Tranvía de la Sierra.
